A massive well done to the 4th/5th and 6th class girls who won their 5 a side County Championship final in Annaghdown GAA club. We played Inis Meáin in the final, who made history being the first island to make the final. The game was played in wet and blustery conditions but it didn't dampen the spirit of both teams. We came out strong in the first half with Sienna, Ella and Laura dominating the scoring. Inis Meàin rallied in the second half and we had to defend valiantly. Lillian and Anna were resolute and kept a calming presence in the backs. Bethany and Aoibhe were industrious and made an excellent contribution in attack and defence. A great achievement for the school and from a team of girls who don't play any club football it makes it extra special. Well done to our Co-Captains Sienna and Ella who recieved the cup on behalf of the team. Tynagh Abú!
